Berlin Airlift
This DVD includes three films on the Berlin Airlift that began in 1948. The first film is a narrated Air Force documentary with historic photos and film footage. It includes interviews with pilots and ground crew. It also features an interview with Gen. Sterling P. Bettinger, who was chief pilot in charge of air traffic procedures. Documentation of the airlift includes “Black Friday,” Operation Little Vittles and “The Easter Parade,” which finally broke the back of the Soviet blockade. There are two other silent films, which include footage of flight line activity during the airlift at Templehof and Rhein Main air bases.
